The conference cordially invites scholars to submit research papers for presentation consideration at the 2026 ISAFE China Conference that will take place on 25-27 June 2026 in Beijing International Studies University - Beijing - China.
This meeting, jointly organized by the International Society for the Advancement of Financial Economics (ISAFE) and Beijing International Studies University in partnership with AVSE Global and EM Normandie Business School, aims to bring together academics, practitioners, and policymakers to share their research findings and discuss current and challenging issues in all finance research areas. The meeting is also an ideal occasion for all scholars around the world to present their research, exchange research ideas and experiences, and develop research projects.
The scientific and organizing committees welcome submissions in all areas of financial economics for presentation at the conference no later than 30 April 2026 (early submission is highly encouraged).
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Millicent Chang is Professor of Finance in the School of Business at the University of Wollongong, Australia, where she also serves as Deputy Head of School. She joined UOW in 2018 after holding an academic position at the University of Western Australia Business School. She teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate programs and supervises higher-degree research students. Her research interests lie in corporate finance, corporate disclosure, insider trading, and sustainability-related finance. Her work has been published in leading international journals, including the Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Business Ethics, Accounting & Finance, and the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal. In addition to her research contributions, she plays an active role in academic service and research leadership.
Professor Chang is currently the Co-Editor-in-Chief of Accounting & Finance, one of the flagship journals of the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ). She has also served the broader academic community through editorial roles and national research service, including membership on the Australian Research Council College of Experts.
Stergios Leventis is a Professor of Accounting at the International Hellenic University (IHU) and a member of its Governing Committee. He has held several key leadership roles, including Chairman of the University Center for International Programmes of Studies, Dean of the School of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Economics, and member of both the Senate and the Governing Board. He holds an MSc from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh and a PhD from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, United Kingdom. Before entering academia, he worked as an accounting consultant, bringing valuable practical experience to his teaching and research. His research focuses on market-based accounting, auditing, corporate governance, and corporate social responsibility, with numerous publications in top international journals. Many of his articles address International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), reflecting his deep engagement with the profession. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of International Accounting, Auditing and Taxation (JIAAT), Associate Editor of the British Accounting Review (BAR), and sits on the editorial boards of several leading peer-reviewed journals, actively shaping global accounting research.
Dragon Yongjun Tang is Professor of Finance at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) Business School, where he serves as Director of the Master of Sustainable Accounting and Finance (MSAF) programme and Associate Director of the Centre for Financial Innovation and Development. He is a Changjiang Scholar Chair Professor appointed by the Ministry of Education of China and Managing Editor of the International Review of Finance. He previously served as Head of the Finance Area at HKU Business School (2017–2020) and as Director of the Master of Finance programme (2012–2015).
Professor Tang earned his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin (2005), an M.S. from Texas A&M University (2000), and a B.S. from Jilin University (1997). Prior to joining HKU, he held academic positions at the University of Texas at Austin and Kennesaw State University.
His research spans credit risk and ratings, credit derivatives (including CDS), structured products and securitization, Chinese banking and credit markets, and, more recently, green finance, ESG, and carbon markets. His work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, and Management Science, and has been featured in major international media outlets including Bloomberg, the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Economist.
Professor Tang has served as a consultant expert on green finance and ESG issues for the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, and the Hong Kong Centre for Green and Sustainable Finance, and has delivered executive training for the People’s Bank of China and the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission. He has received research grants from numerous organizations, including the ClimateWorks Foundation, and has won multiple best paper and research awards from journals, conferences, and international organizations, including the Global Research Alliance for Sustainable Finance and Investment. He is also an inaugural recipient of the Best Doctoral Dissertation Supervisor Award from the National Economics Foundation of China.
